With its stunning natural beauty, numerous recreational opportunities, and vibrant economy, the demand for convenient and accessible transportation options in the Lake Tahoe Basin is increasing. The region's rugged terrain and environmental sensitivity severely limit the potential for expanding existing roadways or constructing new ones. Alternative modes of mobility or multi-modal solutions is the alternative to address transportation needs.

According to the Tahoe Transportation District (TTD) Corridor Connection Plan, Tahoe Basin roadways will experience approximately 10 million more vehicle-trips by 2035 than current roadway usage. To help manage these trips, the Lake Tahoe Basin Transit Master Plan recommends a network of numerous mobility hubs and transit services to and throughout the Tahoe Basin. This approach aims to manage congestion, enhance livability and increase accessibility for residents, the workforce, and visitors throughout the area.

Incline Village was identified as one of several key locations for a mobility hub as part of a larger transportation network connecting Tahoe and out-of-basin communities. Like others, it is located at the convergence of key roadways that travel around and into the Lake Tahoe Basin. Together with the community, TTD is working with local agencies and partners to define a location and develop a design concept for the Incline Village Mobility Hub to address the area's current and future transportation needs.

The new multi-modal network of mobility hubs, transit, trails, bike, and pedestrian amenities will connect Incline Village to the rest of the Basin and Gateway Communities in a meaningful way providing alternative travel choices, helping alleviate congestion, and improving safety while reflecting the community's values in protecting our natural environment, and ultimately lessen the impact of visitor demand.

Incline Village Mobility Hub Committee meetings are typically held the last Monday of the month at 5:30 p.m. The Committee’s August meeting has been cancelled. The Open House that was scheduled for September 18 has been postponed. Please go to the meetings page at tahoetransportation.org to view the locations and materials for the meetings.

Realizing our vision for sustainable communities, safer streets and improved accessibility.

Tahoe’s communities share a collective goal to reduce cars on the road. Together, we can encourage people to leave their cars behind.

Our mission is to create consensus around the Incline Village Mobility Hub as it relates to the broader transit vision for the Tahoe Basin. For more information, visit TTD’s website to view the Transit Master Plan.
